How Takedowns Are Submitted
How Takedowns Are Submitted
Google Search Console
DMCA Bot uses the Google Search Console Removals API to submit DMCA removal requests. Each request identifies the infringing URL and specifies your copyrighted work.
Google typically processes requests within 24–72 hours. Once processed, the URL is removed from all Google Search results globally.
Bing Webmaster Tools
For Bing, DMCA Bot submits removal requests via the Bing Webmaster Tools API. Bing usually processes requests within 24–48 hours.
Hosting Providers
For content hosted on third-party platforms (file-sharing sites, course aggregators, etc.), DMCA Bot submits notices directly to the hosting provider's designated DMCA agent.
Retry Logic
If a submission fails (network error, API limit, form change), DMCA Bot automatically retries up to three times with exponential back-off before marking the takedown as failed and notifying you.
Status Tracking
Every takedown goes through the following statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Detected | Infringement found, takedown not yet submitted |
| Submitted | Notice sent, awaiting processing |
| Removed | Confirmed removed from search results |
| Failed | All retry attempts exhausted |
